Honesty

The first thing to remember is to be a 100% honest. In this case, fill out the building business credit card application with true information regarding your financial condition, your marital status and even something as simple as your true address. Banks check all of this information and will be suspicious if they find that something is not right

The second tip is to not forget anything. For example, if you are buying or leasing a car, mention it in the application. If you are making your monthly payments in a timely manner, then this is something to your advantage as it shows the bank that you are someone who can be trusted. The same thing applies if you have a mortgage for your home.

Check and double-check all the spellings and numbers you enter in your business line of credit card application. Although it may not be considered as fraudulent if you make a mistake, it can significantly delay the processing time if, for instance, your date of birth and social security number are not correct.

Starting A Small Home Business With Little Income Potential

Why would anyone contemplate starting a small home business with little income potential? You may be surprised to know that this is indeed much more common than you might imagine. As a matter of fact, the idea of ferreting out income opportunities that may not carry the promise of upfront riches is a much underrated methodology of supporting a real money maker!
For example, if you consider opening an online business that specializes in a service, such as the sale of your language lessons for children of elementary school age, you may find that your niche is woefully limited. As a matter of fact, you may find that parents actively searching out websites just as yours are few and far between.
Thus starting a small Starscapes.com business opportunity with little income potential and then tying it to your real endeavor will have a twofold impact: you will generate some income that will defray the cost of web hosting, and other site related expenses, while at the same time expanding the target audience which will visit your website.
Back to the example aforementioned: if you are selling language lessons to young children - a service by and large not a hot button search topic for many a parent - but have added a revenue stream on the side that will perhaps make you an affiliate for a major educational toy or book retailer, your site will suddenly experience a mass appeal, thus heavily increasing the visitors to your site and therefore the exposure of your main program.
Keeping visitors on your site is another endeavor that is just as crucial as getting them there in the first place; to this end, you may find that free e-book giveaways, online games, lessons plans, and craft ideas are a wonderful way of making your site perhaps not a sales vehicle only but instead giving it an almost portal like quality. To this end, starting a small home business with little income potential - such as affiliate marketing an education book - can have a most lucrative effect on your mainline business, namely the business of teaching young children a different language.
Affiliate programs are of course quite plentiful in and of themselves, and therefore it is vital that you find one that is not only germane to your main line of business but in the same way does not stand to be a competition. While an appeal to the target audience is vital, not offering a broadly enough appeal is detrimental. You may be able to achieve this by offering a separate section of your site and devoting it to parent resources. If possible, you will be wise to showcase material that point out just how important language lessons may be to a growing child.
Even as the odds of you - the reader - selling language lessons may not be overly great, the fact that starting a small home business with a limited income potential may be the key for ensuring a high volume of sales for your main money maker is an almost universal truth you will be wise to examine. Making a little money in an effort to make a lot more is indeed a smart move on many different fronts!

BUSINESS NETWORK ORGANIZER

A business opportunity network organizer solves two of the most common problems small-business owners have. First is their need to get business. 70% of small business owners say getting enough customers is their #1 challenge. Second is finding time to exchange information with other small-business owners in their community. A network organizer sets up groups of small-business owners to meet regularly, usually weekly, in order to give one another business referrals and to help one another get business. Each group or club has only one person from any particular business or profession, so there’s no competition among the members of the group. Such networking organizations are a structured way for professionals and home business owners to refer clients and customers to one another. Also called word-of-mouth marketing, getting business through referrals from other people has always been a common practice. Traditional service and fraternal organizations such as Rotary, Eagles, Elks, Lions, and Moose have long served as indirect and informal ways of obtaining referrals. Many of today’s small-business owners, however, are seeking a more focused approach to getting referrals by joining what are referred to as leads clubs or networking groups. The sole purpose of these groups is to enable members to give and get referrals.

Power output and metabolic cost of synchronous and asynchronous submaximal and peak level hand cycling on a motor driven treadmill in able-bodied male subjects.

PURPOSE: To evaluate external power output and physiological responses of synchronous (SYNC) and asynchronous hand cycling (ASYNC) at submaximal and peak levels of exercise. METHODS: n=9 able-bodied male subjects (age: 20.1+/-2.1 years) performed two (sub)maximal continuous hand cycle exercise tests, using the SYNC and ASYNC mode in a standardized commercial add-on hand cycle unit (counter-balanced order). Treadmill speed (1.89 and 2.17 m s(-1)) and slope (steps of +1%) were changed in a fixed sequence of 3-min exercise steps. handicap scooters Gears were adjusted to 65 rpm. External power output (PO) was continuously monitored with a strain-gauge instrumented chain ring ((SRM) Schoberer Rad Messtechnik). A conventional medicare power wheelchairs drag test was performed to validate mean external power for each speed-slope combination. Heart rate (HR; bpm) and oxygen uptake (VO2; ml kg(-1) min(-1), SMTP) were continuously monitored. Paired T-tests and ANOVA for repeated measures evaluated effects of mode and exercise level (p<0.05). RESULTS: Subjects reached peak levels of performance (RER: 1.05+/-0.07 versus 1.10+/-0.1 for SYNC and ASYNC). Peak PO and Formula: see text were significantly higher for SYNC (81.6+/-11.8 W versus 68.5+/-10.6 W; 26.4+/-4.5 ml kg(-1) min(-1) versus 21.2+/-3.0 ml kg(-1) min(-1)). At submaximal exercise levels, gross mechanical efficiency (ME) was significantly higher for SYNC (12.1+/-0.9% versus 9.7+/-1.4% at 41 W). No significant differences were found for PO (at equal velocity and slope), as derived from the SRM (SYNC and ASYNC), and from the drag test. DISCUSSION: The absence of any differences in PO between SYNC and ASYNC, and with respect to the drag test, rules out 'additional external work due to maintain the desired heading' in the ASYNC as an explanation for the lower performance in this mode. Lower peak performance and ME in ASYNC may be explained by the increased stabilizing muscle effort in the upper extremities and trunk in order to combine power production with stable steering. ASYNC is less efficient compared to SYNC. Similarly, peak performance capacity was higher for SYNC. CONCLUSION: External work does not differ between SYNC and ASYNC hand cycling. SRM readings appear valid for PO monitoring in hand cycling within the studied range of PO. SYNC is more efficient than ASYNC and leads to higher peak performance

Other factors to consider

The decision to go into business is based on a thorough study of factors such as the potential market, sales promotion and advertising, location, making the product or setting up the service, delivery of the product and profit potential. A New Home Based Business Starts Every Ten Seconds - Are You Ready?

Running your own Starscapes.com business opportunity is just one of many ways to make money. It is the same as owning your own traditional business and should be treated as such. You will need to advertise your business, sell and promote any products and get others to join your team. It takes allot of hard work, not to mention time and dedication. However, the potential for success is great and can be very rewarding.
Before starting a home business
you need to figure out what is real and what is a scam. You must do your homework. The Internet is great for researching anything, including getting the facts about any business opportunity.
1. Look for any information about a company before joining. Look for complaints, investigations or misleading information about the products.
2. Try and get a friend for their opinion about a company, not to join with you but just to help you make a decision.
3. Talk to people who are familiar with a company that you are interested in. What sets that company apart from all the rest?
4. Check with the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce. How long has the company been in business? Search for any news relating to the company, good or bad.
5. What product do they offer? It is extremely important that the product is reasonably priced and a consumable. Can the product be ordered and consumed every month? Would a customer want to order and consume it every month?
6. Stay away from companies that require you to stock up on inventory. Find a company that only requires you to purchase enough products for a month at a time.
7. Avoid high start up costs. They are usually a sign that a company is just looking to make a profit and not to provide a useful, quality product. Think about it, why should you pay an outrageous amount to start a business? What purpose would it serve except to give someone else your money?
8. What is required before you actually get a check? Make sure you understand how you will get paid and what is required for you to get paid before starting.
9. Does the company provide support and training? Support is extremely important, you will need help and you will need training. Who is your sponsor? How long have they been with the company and will they provide the support you need to be successful?
10. Is there a refund policy?
11. Your compensation should be based on the purchase of a product by a customer. If you cannot figure out what the product is, then avoid that company.
12. Before signing on the dotted line talk with others in the business to see what they have to say about the company and the compensation plan.
Remember that all good things take time and patience. If you plan out your business before beginning then your chances for succeeding are greater then just by jumping into the first opportunity that you come across.
Most people join an opportunity with the mistaken notion that just by signing up and getting a free website to promote will make them wealthy overnight.
There is no secret formula to building a successful home business. Yes it is possible to work smarter by automating allot of your tasks. But to build a business takes work and lots of it.
TIP: Find a mentor. If you can establish a relationship with a good mentor who cares about making you a success, then stick with them! They are few and far between.
Starting a home business may be the best decision that you will every make. The variety is much larger then it use to be, thanks to the internet.
Nothing can be more satisfying then doing your own thing at home.
Having plenty of time to spend with loved ones along with a very profitable business is indeed a wonderful thing.

Technological advances in powered wheelchairs

During the last 40 years, there have been revolutionary advances in power wheelchairs. These unique wheelchair systems and power wheelchairs, designed for the physically immobile patient, have become extremely diversified, allowing the user to achieve different positions, including tilt, recline, and, more recently, passive standing. Because of this wide diversity of powered wheelchair products, there is a growing realization of the need for certification of wheeled mobility suppliers. Legislation in Tennessee (Consumer Protection Act for Wheeled Mobility) passed in 2003 will ensure that wheeled mobility suppliers must have Assistive Technology Supplier certification and maintain their continuing education credits when fitting individuals in wheelchairs for long-term use. Fifteen other legislative efforts are currently underway in general assemblies throughout the US. Manufacturers, dealers, hospitals, and legislators are working toward the ultimate goal of passing federal legislation delineating the certification process of wheeled mobility suppliers. The most recent advance in the design of powered wheelchairs is the development of passive standing positions. The beneficial effects of passive standing have been documented by comprehensive scientific studies. These benefits include reduction of seating pressure, decreased bone demineralization, increased bladder pressure, enhanced orthostatic circulatory regulation, reduction in muscular tone, decrease in upper extremity muscle stress, and enhanced functional status in general. In February 2003, Permobil, Inc., introduced the powered Permobil Chairman 2K Stander wheelchair, which can tilt, recline, and stand. Other companies are now manufacturing powered wheelchairs that can achieve a passive standing position. These wheelchairs include the Chief SR Powerchair, VERTRAN, and LifeStand Compact. Another new addition to the wheelchair industry is the iBOT, which can elevate the user to reach cupboards and climb stairs but has no passive standing capabilities. In addition, the physically immobile patient must be seated on an ERGODYNAMIC Seating System 2000, which is inflated by the alternating pressure compressor 8080. This seating system has a deep center seam between the two ischial-support chambers, which provides a recess for the coccyx. The pre-ischial crossbar compartment inflates during each cycle to prevent the pelvis from slipping forward. It is essential that the physician of the immobile patient order two ERGODYNAMIC Seating Systems 2000 because the patient must have an additional seating system in the case one leaks. Moreover, two compressors are necessary because each compressor must be serviced after 2500 hours of use. For the protection of the consumer, these pressure relief systems must be supplied and serviced by a Certified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier such as Wheelchair Works Inc. Despite the indisputable scientific evidence of the medical benefits of passive standing for the immobile user, few individuals have access to these revolutionary wheelchairs. Consequently, it is mandatory that the medical community, headed by specialists in physical and occupational therapy as well as rehabilitation medicine, CRTS, and manufacturers collaborate in a national education campaign to convince Medicare/Medicaid and all commercial insurance companies to approve immediately these assisted technologies. This program is essential so that the physically immobilized patient can achieve the undisputed physical benefits of passive standing.

Choosing the Business

A home based business opportunity can be either product-oriented or service-oriented. Product-oriented businesses are usually two types: a) selling products made by you, family members and/or employees (like raw materials such as fabrics or tanned leather, kits like yarn/pattern and knitting needles, partially finished items like unpainted bird houses or completed articles such as jewelry and belt buckles) or b)selling products manufactured by others and either purchased by you for resale or sold on an order basis. Services may involve performing a service at the place of business (word processing, tutoring, bookkeeping or child care) or at another location (house painting, carpet cleaning or consulting). To determine or confirm your business opportunity idea(s), examine your interests, skills and abilities, education/training, and experiences.
You must enjoy doing the work involved. Just because you make super apple pies or wooden toys doesn’t mean that you would want to create them six days a week. Perhaps you would rather teach others to make pies or toys! Teaching requires a totally different set of skills and interests than doing the actual work yourself. See (Appendix A) for a list of business ideas.

3 Benefits Of Continous Learning

We are always taking in new information but the question is WHAT are we learning? As human beings we are always growing, but we need to ask ourselves “in what direction”? Are we choosing the direction that we want to go?
Many people are committed to their “stories” which really are excuses for not taking action. They live their life by them. I used to be one of the people committed to my stories/excuses. Believe me, it was learned behavior. I learned it from many different sources such as family, school, friends and work environments. For example, because of the influence of others at work, I always believed that it was best for me to stay home 4 work nights each week and only be out late on a work night once a week. As a result there are many things I have not done because of that limiting belief that it was “not good for me to go out too many times during the week”. One of the things I missed out on was learning Spanish, something I have wanted to do for years.
So why is it that we should be making conscious choices about which information we take in so that we are Continuously Learning?
3 Benefits of Continuous Learning:
1) Protect your future for you and your family…
We can protect ourselves by learning new skills. With these new skills we can protect ourselves from being laid off or downsized. For example, if you were to go to school once a week and learn something that makes you a more valuable commodity in the marketplace or learned a new skill in a different arena, you could be prepared for downsizing or layoff when it happens. We know in this changing world that there is no escape from change, it surrounds us daily and the pace of change is accelerating.
Are you sitting around waiting for change or are you directing the change that happens to you? We know that we do not get a promotion without a test. Have you ever applied for a job that you really wanted? Did you study, do research on the company and their visions and goals. Prepare yourself for that interview/test? If you really wanted the job, then I am sure you did. Learning something new, preparing for that business opportunity protects us and allows us to get out of our “comfort zone”. Nothing ever happens in the comfort zone, we stay right where we are, even though the world is changing around us. Do you want to get left behind?
2) Learning can change your life
I have just completed a learning event with Live Out Loud and Loral Langemeier in Lake Tahoe. Believe me, it was a stretch and really assisted me in getting outside of my comfort zone. My life has changed for the better because of that experience and I am preparing myself for the future!
The events that have happened in my life where I have had to get out of my comfort zone have all in some way, big or small, improved my life. There are still times where I want to wallow in my comfort zone. However, now I know the perils of staying there, so I do not stay there very long.
When I first started on my journey of building my home business, our dream was to be able to sponsor 10 children with “The Plan”. As we have learned and grown through the process our focus is now to sponsor 100 children. The learning has changed our attitude about life and money, which of course has resulted in changing our lives. The focus of our life has changed for the better.
3) Learning can keep you young
Learning assists us in adapting to change. Think of a time when you dreaded having to learn something new. Why were you dreading it? Was it because you are not in the habit of learning? Did you believe it would be too hard? Did you not see any benefit for the learning? Getting back into the habit of learning is just like starting out on a bicycle, it takes a lot more effort to get going than it does once you have attained the desired speed. When we are learning we are involved with life, we are out with our peers or a whole new group of people.
What are new information are you feeding yourself? I realized that the fiction books I was feeding myself were simply a form of escape. Very similar to the young boy we met on the streets of Le Ciba in Honduras. He was one of the kids who were abandoned to the streets as young as the age of two. What he did to escape the reality of his own life was to sniff gasoline. After meeting him I realized that I was doing the same thing by reading too many fiction books.
After that I started feeding myself with more positive material. If this is one of your escape mechanisms and you desire to change it, you may want to switch the type of books that you read. Biographies are a great way to switch from fiction because they are stories too.
Once we have begun to change our learning habits by making conscious decisions about the information we feed ourselves on, the next step is to teach what we have learned. Teaching others is the best way to learn it even better. One of my great desires is for my family and friends to learn how not to get left behind. That is the reason I choose to write these articles, because assisting you in your learning also assists me in understanding better myself.
I thank you very much for reading this article and welcome comments. Please send me an email, I would love to hear your stories about how learning has affected your life.
The next step is to teach what we have learned. Teaching others is the best way to learn it even better. One of my great desires is for my family and friends to learn how not to get left behind. That is the reason I choose to write these articles, because assisting you in your learning also assists me in understanding better myself.

“Can You Live Where You Work… and Work Where You Live?”

A unique situation occurs when a business opportunity is operated out of the home. Conflict can result from the infringement of the customer/business interaction on family functioning. A family and business does not integrate successfully in the same space without some planning. Five areas of family functioning are likely to be affected.
Family cohesion. Each household will need to answer the following: 1)What will the business demand from the home space? 2)What does the family need from the space in the home? 3) How can you develop a management plan for household space use that best accommodates your family and your business?
Personal and family time schedules. If the schedules of family members are fixed and intermeshed (one car and each person needs to be on time for various commitments), a Starscapes.com business opportunity would have to meet this time schedule. It would be difficult to retail items such as paintings and crafts if customers stop by anytime.
Use of space. Is your business one which requires storage space, an area for customer interaction, specialized tools and equipment, or convenient access for pickup and delivery? Is confidentiality a problem? The arrangement of space may affect ongoing family activities. The most convenient part of the house for customer interaction, pickup and delivery is often the most shared and public parts of the house (kitchen, living room, etc.).
Space separations must be maintained for deductions as business expenses for tax purposes. One must determine if this part of the house has too many uses that are part of the pattern of your family’s life to also be used in the business.
There are many different types of home-based businesses, but they can be grouped into broad categories: production/service; consulting or counseling; sales or marketing and mail order. These different types of businesses have different space needs. Thinking about what category describes your business can help you begin to think about space needs. Think about storage space, space for tools and equipment, production space, area to meet with clientele, pickup and delivery and office space.
The Neighborhood. How do your neighbors feel about a business in the neighborhood, and do city and county codes permit your business to be established in the neighborhood? Higher traffic in the neighborhood may cause disenchantment among friends and neighbors. A seamstress may consider fitting garments at the client’s house or secure alteration business through a clothing store or dry cleaners in order to preserve the character of the neighborhood, for example.
Shipping and deliveries could be made to a U.S. postal service box or parcel service branch office to avoid unwanted truck traffic.
Risk handling behavior. Another aspect of family functioning which relates to a business at home is the family’s attitude toward risk. Some are risk seekers who look for opportunities to be tested, willingly take financial risks, and promote novelty and change in their lives. Others tend to avoid change and desire a secure environment at home and around the family.

DESIGN AND SETTING: A questionnaire was mailed to 102 tetraplegic subjects who were hospitalised in the rehabilitation center of Kerpape (Ploemeur, France) between 1998 and 2004, and 59 subjects responded. The questionnaire asked about the use of telephones, computers, power wheelchairs, power wheelchairs and environmental controls at home. RESULTS: When a piece of equipment was acquired, it was very often used. Patient satisfaction with equipment was 79.3%. Home phones and mobile phones were often used with options such as hands-free devices (78 and 59% respectively). A total of 64.4% of subjects acquired a manual wheelchair and 61% a power wheelchair. The most commonly acquired options on the power wheelchairs were the powered recline (73,7%) and tilt (71,1%) systems. All options were used but all were more desired than acquired. A total of 27.1% of subjects desired a pushrim-activated power-assist wheelchair, but only 15.3% had acquired one; 695% of subjects had a computer. Communication was the first use for the computer (82.5%); 49.2% of subjects had acquired an environmental control system, but 20% desired one. The first reason for lack of acquisition was financial difficulties but also accessibility and information problems. The factor that influenced the acquisition and need for equipment was the degree of spinal cord injury. No other factor reduced patient satisfaction with equipment. CONCLUSION: Patients were satisfied with the equipment they acquired. But their needs, especially wheelchair options and environmental control systems, were not satisfied.
